Witch-Hunters and Flat-Earthers (Me @ Guardian)

On 29 July, Christian witch-hunters accused of torturing and killing local children attacked and beat campaigners for child protection at a public meeting in Calabar, Nigeria. The same week, hundreds of members of the Islamist group Boko Haram were killed in suicide attacks on police stations across the north of the country. It's easy to dismiss these distant events, but we hold some responsibility for them – and the consequences of this religious extremism spread far beyond West Africa.

Religious Affiliation Predicts Belief in Climate Change

[bpsdb] One of the more fascinating feeds I've found since plunging deeper into Twitters incessant deluge of information and increasing my own presence there, is that of the Pew Research Center. So far this month alone they've published several studies on beliefs that are worth reporting, but for now I'll just deal with one, on Religion and Climate Change

Gerald Warner: The "Gay Threat" to Christianity

I've gone on a bit about the Daily Mail and Richard Littlejohn lately, so I've got a brand new target to unveil today. His name is Gerald and he likes churches and Sarah Palin. He also writes for the Daily Telegraph, and his latest blog entry is the amusingly-titled "If Sarah Palin's church was burned by arsonists, it is a warning to Christians". Let's take a look.
